Ginger is anti-inflammatory, helps to reduce spasms, is anti-microbial, and reduces digestive symptoms, such as gas and bloating.

When you think of ginger tea, you may think of buying ginger tea bags from the store.  The potency of ginger in tea bags is miniscule compared to the recipe below, made from REAL ginger.

  • Remove the skin from 1-2 inches of fresh ginger
  • Slice the ginger
  • Crush it if you can with a mortar and pestle
  • Toss it and the ginger juices into 1 1/2 cups of water
  • Boil until the ginger aroma is quite strong and the water has a yellowish tint
  • Turn off the fire.  You can either let it sit or drink it right away

For extra support, you may eat the ginger pieces used for boiling as well, or place them in your next smoothie or culinary dish.
