If you are experiencing joint or back pain, remember to check your hydration level. If you are not drinking enough water, start doing so consistently for at least 1 week and see how your joints feel.
Rule of thumb: drink half your body weight in ounces.
Minimum would be approximately 8 cups per day for most adults.
Some people with digestive issues find that water bloats them. I encourage you to still drink more water. One of the ways to curb this situation is by drinking your water via herbal teas that help to reduce stomach bloating, such as Angelica archangelica, Chamomile, Cardamom, Clove, Ginger, and Peppermint. Most of my clients with digestive issues tend to run on the cold side, so drinking hot tea will help warm you up and increase your digestive fire. You can also add a little bit of Apple Cider Vinegar to your water. Some people actually have low stomach acid and thus deal with heartburn and indigestion. Apple Cider Vinegar can help with this.
Others avoid water because they have to urinate too much during the day. Including a pinch of sea salt or a few mineral drops in your water can help you to better retain the water. Most people these days in the US are drinking reverse osmosis water. Although it is clean, it is too clean, because it is devoid of the natural minerals that water can contain. Minerals are very important for many functions within our body. Another trick is to drink a lot at one time, so you can somewhat control the timing of when you will need to go to the bathroom.
